South Maui Restaurants
A new restaurant in Kihei, Coconuts offers a simple menu with fish burgers in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is delicious, healthy, and quick. Their fish burgers and salads are becoming very popular with South Maui local residents. Enjoy sitting at your surfboard while eating a great meal!
Tucked away next to both Sansei and Foodland, Cuatro is a small, cozy restaurant serving pacific inspired Mexican food. Some of the unqiue creations coming out of the kitchen are nachos made from crispy wantons with fresh sashimi Ahi Poki as well as other creative dishes.
Duo is also part of the Four Seasons just underneath Spagos. Duo is a newer steakhouse just across the pool from Ferraros. The steaks are perfect, and the seafood to die for. Unless you are fortunate enough to get the Kama'aina discount, you'll be paying a pretty penny.
Located by the pool at the Mana Kai, Five Palms Beach Grill has excellent food, great service, and one of the best locations and views in all of South Maui. This Maui restaurant sits on Keawakapu Beach next to Sarrento's and is usually missed by most visitors.
New to Wailea, Monkeypod Kitchen is the latest restaurant by Peter Merriman. They've got a great location off of the Piilani Highway between Kihei and Wailea. The restaurant has loads of beer on tap along with an excellent ambiance and views of the ocean.
For creative presentation, quality sushi, and a lively atmosphere go to Sansei in the middle of Kihei off of South Kihei Road. Prices are very reasonable, especially during their many happy hours before and after the regular dinner rush. Sansei is in the habit of winning awards for their inventive ways of preparing fish. They have a wonderful book of Hawaii sushi recipes too.
Kihei and Wailea have very few locations with great ocean views. Sarento's has one of the best views on the water in South Maui. It sits on Keawakapu Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. The food is great and the service is very attentive. Grade A Maui Sunsets.
Located at the Maui Ocean Center, this is an often missed hidden gem. Their food is delicious, views unparalleled, and prices offer accessible meals for all. We already loved visiting the aquarium, but now we have a new reason to go.
Tommy Bahama's Emporium and Cafe is a must when visiting South Maui. Their menu is varied and delicious, their cocktails are the best on the island, and the ambiance is uniquely Hawaiian with a relaxed island vibe. Try the Baja Margarita and the BBC when at the bar, and also ask for the best coconut shrimp on Maui.
Café O'lei is a regular haven for South Maui residents. It's located in a very unpresumptuous spot on the second floor of the Rainbow Mall. Once inside, you'll see that it's all class. The food is eclectic with a full sushi bar and great prices. You can visit the review for Cafe O'lei.
Outside by the pool at the Four Seasons, Ferraros is a top-notch place to spend lunch or dinner. Everything there is of the highest quality. Lunch can be reasonable considering the first class service, food, and view. Dinner is on the higher end, but is worth the money. They have exquisite live violin music while you dine under the stars. The bar is wonderful with knowledgeable friendly staff, and it's well stocked with everything you'd want.
