Maui Spotlight: Maui Sunseeker Resort

Updated:

NOTE:  This property is under new ownership and will undergo rebranding and a bunch of great upgrades.  More to come!

Maui is a mecca for all things tropical and lovely, hence the reason millions of visitors from around the world flock to our shores each year. From tree houses perched in the jungle of Maui’s rainforest to celebrity-studded oceanfront resorts, Maui offers every type of accommodation for every type of traveler.

One that continues to fly under the radar is Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort, who welcomes all travelers, no matter your background or orientation. Featured on season 1 of the hit show Hotel Impossible, the Sunseeker has undergone massive renovations and offers some of the most beautiful accommodations, not to mention friendly service, on Maui.

Location

If you’ve chosen Maui as your travel destination, chances are you enjoy the sun, sand and saltwater. Enter Kihei’s Mai Poina ‘Oe la’u Beach, only 30 steps from Maui Sunseeker. While strong winds can make this beach less swimmer-friendly than others a little further south, this is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing morning walk, afternoon picnic or sunset lounge, often mostly to yourself. Swaying palm trees, scenic views and one of the best areas in Maui for wind and kitesurfing? Well alright, if we must. Ahh…

Take a short walk or drive to South Maui’s best restaurants, bars, shops, activities and attractions, and enjoy a great take-off point for reaching other popular areas of the island, including Maalaea Harbor (10 minutes), Iao Valley (15-20 minutes) and West Maui (20-30 minutes).

Rooms & Suites

Several types of room options are available for guests – Standard, Studio, Junior Suite, Full Suite, Ocean View Penthouse, and Ocean Front Penthouse – all beautifully furnished and stocked with amenities like a refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, HD/3D Smart Flat Panel TV, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, ceiling fan, air conditioning, California King bed and housekeeping services 7 days a week.

Complimentary wifi, parking, and daily use of beach towels, chairs and coolers is also available, saving you time, money and luggage space!

Rooftop Deck

One important part of the Hotel Impossible transformation included a redesign of the Sunseeker’s rooftop deck, which offers amazingly perfect views of the West Maui Mountains and setting sun over the water. During winter months, this is one of the best places to whale watch from shore!
