Summer isn’t over yet! There is a ton of fun to look forward to this month, from hula festivals to reggae concerts featuring legendary artists from near and far. Read on for the hottest Maui events in August 2025.
What’s happening on Maui for August 2025?

August 1
Youth Art Exhibition 2025: This unique exhibition showcases the work of 250+ youth participating in the Hui’s summer arts programming. The result is an explosion of vibrant creativity that features the extraordinary possibilities unlocked by community visual arts education. Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center. Opening reception 2-4pm. Runs until August 22.
August 2
WUKI: Known for viral edits, massive remixes, and high-voltage sets at EDC and Lollapalooza, WUKI is about to tear it down, club-style, at da Playground Maui. Doors open 9pm, WUKI at 12am. 21+
August 3
White Hawaiian: A one-man musical extravaganza! Broadway’s Eric Gilliom tickles your funny bone and warms your heart while celebrating Hawaii’s rich history and unique multi-ethnic culture. Pro Arts Playhouse, 3pm.
Mike Love: Mike Love returns to da Playground for a special solo acoustic set, joined by special guests Jason Arcilla. Hailing from Oahu and known worldwide for his powerful lyrics and spiritual energy, Mike is stripping it all down for this performance—just him and his guitar. da Playground, 6pm. 21+
August 4
Makalii: Rising Star of the Pacific: New at da Playground every Monday! Named after the star cluster Pleiades—Makalii in Hawaiian—this epic show honors the season Makahiki, a time of peace and renewal in ancient Hawaii. This is Maui’s only indoor theatrical Polynesian review. da Playground, 11:30am. 21+
August 7
Wailing Souls: Grammy nominated reggae icons Wailing Souls are bringing their legendary vibes to the da Playground for a night of roots and riddims. This is your chance to experience the OG Sounds of Jamaica right here on Maui! da Playground, 6pm, 21+.
August 8
Magic in Paradise: Prepared to be dazzled by expert sleight-of-hand magician, Maui’s David Kuraya. David performed regularly at the renowned Warren & Annabelle’s Magic Nightclub in Lahaina before the fires. At each show, he donates part of his proceeds to local charities. Pro Arts Playhouse, 7:30pm.
August 9
Kalani Pe‘a: Eia La – Celebrating 10 Years of Hawaiian Music: Four-time Grammy Award-winning artists Kalani Pe‘a proudly announces a milestone in his career, celebrating a decade of recording Hawaiian, contemporary, and soul music. Pe‘a invites fans and supporters to join him in a special celebration featuring live performances and reflections on his journey. Pro Arts Playhouse, 7:30 pm.
Nashville Nights: Experience southern charm and soulful country vibes at Nashville Nights. Enjoy an intimate evening with artist Jarrod Neimann as the sun sets over Ka‘anapali Beach. Savor Southern-inspired dishes and handcrafted cocktails while taking in oceanfront views and great music. This is an all-ages outdoor event. 7:00 pm, Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa.
Second Saturdays featuring the House Shakers: Head to South Maui Gardens for a night of classic rock music with the House Shakers. Savor delicious food from 10+ onsite food trucks, plus dive into the vibrant night market, featuring local Maui artisans and vendors. Best of all, it’s FREE! South Maui Gardens, 5pm.
August 14
Natural Science Rush Tribute: Hailing from Southern California, Natural Science is the premiere Rush experience. Expect epic instrumentals and the iconic sound that defined a generation of rock. da Playground, 6pm. 21+
August 15
Notes Between Friends: Experience an intimate evening of classical music as friends come together to share timeless works, heartfelt interpretations, and the joy of connection through beautifully crafted notes and harmonies. Pro Arts Playhouse, 7:30pm.
Likkle Jordee: Oahu’s own Likkle Jordee has shared the stage with legends like Damian Marley, SOJA, J-Boog, Hirie, and more. Opening the night is Maui’s own Dylan Keawe. Don’t miss them at da Playground! da Playground, 7pm. 21+
August 22
What So Not: Australia’s What So Not is bringing his explosive sound to Maui. Known for pushing boundaries and igniting dance floors worldwide, What So Not blends future bass, trap, and festival anthems into a sonic experience. da Playground, 9pm. 21+
Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival: The annual Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival is coming to The Branches at the Royal Lahaina Resort. Enjoy an evening of hula performances followed by a day of workshops, free keiki activities, and exhibits. August 22-23, Royal Lahaina Resort.

Mondays
Lei Po’o Making: The Shops of Wailea invites guests to learn how to weave ti leaf leis using ferns and flowers. Lei Po’o can be worn on the head and was typically used as a gift on special occasions by Ali’i (Hawaiian Royalty). This event is open to both keiki and adults and runs from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
Tuesdays
Polynesian Show at The Shops: This weekly show will highlight Hawaiian hula as well as other dances of Polynesia. The performance will take place at the Shops of Wailea from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Coconut Husking at The Shops: From 2:30 to 3:30 pm weekly, the Shops of Wailea will be hosting demonstrations of the traditional and modern methods in husking a coconut. Learn how the Hawaiians would use every part of the coconut from food to crafting eating utensils, jewelry as well as furniture.
Tuesday Trivia at Mahalo Aleworks: Head to Upcountry’s only brewery to test your trivia skills. Be sure to make it by 5:45 pm to register, trivia kicks off at 6 pm. Teams can be no larger than four. The winning team is awarded a $50 brewery gift card!
Wednesdays
Slack Key Guitar Show: The Masters of Hawaiian Music Slack Key Show is open for live shows once again. The Slack Key Show ohana will perform each week at 6:30 pm at the Napili Kai Beach Resort. Tickets are required for entry, this show is also streamed online.

Coconut Frond Weaving at the Shops: The Shops of Wailea invites guests to try their hand at the highly developed Hawaiian skill of weaving. Coconut frond weaving was used to make baskets, mats, and even toys. This event runs weekly from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Fridays
Papa Hula at the Shops: Hosted at the Shops of Wailea, Papa Hula is a celebration of the Hawaiian way of life. Enjoy a complimentary dance lesson, complete with costumes and accessories, and the dance movements and their meanings. This interactive performance runs from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Saturdays
Upcountry Farmers Market: Shop some of the best local souvenirs on the island, indulge in delicious food and support local farmers at one of Maui’s biggest weekly events. Don’t forget to set your morning alarm, as this market favors the early shopper. The Upcountry Farmers Market runs from 7:00 to 11:00 am every Saturday at the Kulamalu Town Center in Pukalani.
Sundays
Maui Sunday Market: Featuring some of Maui’s most renowned food trucks, local vendors, and quality entertainment, the Maui Sunday Market is one of the island’s most popular weekly events. Centrally located at the Kahului Shopping Center, the Maui Sunday Market draws locals and visitors from all corners of the island. The event runs every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
