Maui Same Sex Marriage History

Beginning January 1st, 2012, civil unions for same-sex couples in the state of Hawaii officially included access to the full range of state law rights and responsibilities. On December 2nd, 2013, same-sex couples were officially allowed to wed under the Hawaii Marriage Equality Act, signed into law by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie. Today, the entire US allows for legal civil unions.
