• Beautiful Beach

Directly in front of the Makena Resort is a fantastic white sand beach.

• Remote Location

But not too remote! Only 5 minutes from Wailea shopping.

One of the only resorts located in Makena, you’re lucky enough to escape the crowded beaches in front of resorts in Wailea, Lahaina, and Kihei. But, you’re still not too far from more great restaurants and things to do in these bordering towns only 5 minutes away.

• Amazing Golf

Makena Golf Courses are renowned for being some of the best in the world. You have easy access to scenic golfing in paradise.

• Great Food and Unforgettable Luau

With the Molokini Bar & Grill, Zen-Zen Restaurant Pacifica, and the Makena Clubhouse you have quality choices for dining. The Luau is also a lot of fun and worth doing.

• Convenient Access to Molokini Crater

By far, the fastest and most convenient way to get to Molokini Crater is on the Kai Kanani, which offers exclusive shore entry in front of the Makena Beach and Golf Resort. This is the closest location you could leave from to get to the Molokini Crater, so forget about the crowds and get there before anyone else for an amazing snorkeling adventure!

25 Best Things To Do on Maui

Makena Accommodations

The Makena Beach and Golf Resort has over 300 rooms including over a dozen suites.

The Pool and Beach

The pool is not as big as other resort pools, but it’s still very nice with a bar next to it and a couple of above-ground jacuzzis.

The beach is the main reason for staying in Makena. The beach is made up of white sands and is hugged by dark lava rock. Snorkeling here is fantastic, and this area is often described as Turtle Town. Look for the Kai Kanani off the shore, a high-tech catamaran that will sail you to Molokini before anyone else. This is the preferred way to snorkel while in Maui waters.

There’s also a Black/Red sand beach not far as well as the famous Big Beach only a few minutes’ drive away. If you feel like hiking, La Perouse is not far away and offers views of the most recent volcanic eruption. Please keep in mind that it’s smart to bring a hat, sunblock, and a lot of water if you intend to hike here. The lava fields are very hot!

Makena Golf Course

The golfing in Makena is world-famous. You really can’t beat hitting balls with incredible ocean views, warm breezes, islands in the distance, and the occasional whale breach. The golf courses hug the resort so you’ve got super easy access to early sessions.
