Mill House Restaurant
1670 Honoapiilani Hwy
Wailuku, HI 96793
The Mill House Restaurant is located at the Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu, near the base of the West Maui Mountains in Waikapu, central Maui. In our opinion, the combination of top-notch food and views make this one of the absolute best places to dine out on Maui.
Executive Chef Jeff Scheer (Chef of the Year, 'Aipono Awards 2015) thrills guests at the Mill House Restaurant with first-time culinary creations.
Chef Jeff utilizes the best, freshest, and most unique, locally-sourced ingredients (many of which are grown on property) to create a rotating menu of world class dishes.
If you've been yearning to try some of Maui's best food offerings, this is the place to do it. Having attended the Chef's Table events many times, we are always thrilled to experience inventive flavors, all beautifully plated, outdoors at the beautiful Maui Tropical Plantation.
While we can't give you specific dish recommendations, that's actually one of the coolest things about The Mill House Restaurant. The menu is constantly changing based on what's in season, what's available, and Jeff's inspiration for showcasing the best local flavors.
Foodies - we've found your heaven!
The Mill House Restaurant has one of the best locations on Maui, hands down. The Maui Tropical Plantation is beautifully landscaped and manicured with interesting sculptures and decor found throughout, and the restaurant is no exception.
The spacious, horseshoe bar is chock full of interesting architectural features, tin ceilings, a wooden tree cross-section arch, old train cars, unique stone-work, and a cool custom concrete, metal and plate sculpture centerpiece. Just outside the open air bar is a beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking the duck pond and mountains.
We particularly enjoyed the fact that they offer live music, both occasionally in the restaurant and at the neighboring shows at The Mill House, which features a full stage in a spacious hall with high ceilings and its own bar. All this is set against the background of the nearby duck pond, swaying palm trees, and West Maui Mountains.
If you're searching for a new place to enjoy a pau hana, date night, or evening out with friends, this is a wonderful option.
The service from The Mill House Restaurant team is astounding. Years of experience in the catering industry has created a team of exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, personable and helpful staff members.
We can't say enough good things about the service staff at this restaurant, and enjoy their friendly and positive demeanor every time.
If you expect great food, you should expect the same from the cocktails. Fresh fruit and fruit juice are used in every cocktail, and you can definitely taste the love they put into their drink menu.
Some of our favorites were the Watermelon Margarita (Cazadores Tequila, Plantation Watermelon, Lime, Lemon, Black Lava Salt Rim) and Handmade Bloody Mary (Tito's Vodka, Haiku Tomato, Season Plantation Veggie and Herb Mix, Alaea Salt, Celery Seed, Black Pepper Rim), although the rest of the cocktail menu was intriguing as well.
A wide assortment of beer, wine and champagne were also available by the glass or bottle.
Overall, The Mill House Restaurant is a win-win on every level. Personable service, excellent and unique dishes found nowhere else on Maui, and an assortment of tasty craft cocktails make this one of our favorite recommendations for dining out on Maui.
