Maui Events June 2017

Select Friday & Saturday Evenings (June 3rd, 9th, 17th, 24th):

Maui Chef’s Table – Come experience the Maui Chef’s Table culinary adventure on the grounds of Maui Tropical Plantation! Enjoy 7 courses of unique, farm-fresh cuisine and craft cocktails, all prepared in a gorgeous island setting. Please check their calendar for dates and tickets. $150 per person, including tax and gratuity.

Every Third Tuesday (June 20th):

Brushstrokes & Brews – On the third Tuesday of each month, Island Art Party brings its fun painting classes to The Maui Brewing Co. in Kihei. Come create a beautiful painting, and enjoy happy hour pricing in the tasting room all night! Only $59 (kama’aina discount available with ID) and it sells out quick, so book early. Ages 16+ only.

June 1st

Ka Hula Piko Hula Festival: Located on Moloka’i, this is a unique cultural and educational event to educate and enlighten all people of the undocumented, pre-Western history of Moloka’i. The Festival is unique and celebrates the many oral traditions of early Moloka’i that tell of the island as being the birthplace of the hula.

June 2nd

Wailuku First Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family fun entertainment on Wailuku’s historic Market Street.

June 3rd

Family Class at Island Art Party: From 2pm to 4:30pm, reserve a spot in Kihei’s family-friendly painting class. Painting ‘Beach Buddies,’ this class is open for ages 8 and up.

Maui Upcountry Fair: A Maui tradition for more than 35 years, head Upcountry for pony rides, a Keiki Zone, mechanical bull, bouncy castles, the 4-H Livestock Show & Auction, ‘Ohana Rodeo, the Made in Hawaii Arts & Crafts show, Cutest Keiki Cowboy and Cowgirl Contest, a BBQ cookoff, Molokai Sweet Potato Contest, food booths, paniolo activities and a photo booth.

E Kaulele A‘e – A Hō‘ike Celebrating Hālau Kamaluokaleihulu: Head to the MACC’s Yokouchi Pavilion for a true celebration of Hawaiian music, Hawaiian culture, and the celebration of Hula.

The Merwin Conservancy presents Pualani Kanahele in the Green Room: Located at the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater, The Merwin Conservancy presents Hawaiian cultural expert and living treasure, Dr. Pualani Kanaka‘ole-Kanahele.

June 10th

Zenshin Daiko’s 18th Annual Taiko Festival Concert: Zenshin Daiko’s 18th annual taiko festival concert will start with the 50 members of this impressive Maui group performing some of their favorite pieces and premiering new works written by its members.

June 16th

Makawao Third Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment on Makawao’s Baldwin Avenue.

June 17th

Maui Garden Expo: Located at the Maui Mall, this new & improved event is geared towards both homeowners and business in the horticulture industry! Allied suppliers, nurseries and non-profit organizations will all be present.

MAMo at the MACC – Wearable Art Show: A component of the Maoli Arts Movement, the wearable art show celebrates Hawaiian design in fabric and clothing—specifically in terms of cultural motif—in a way that makes it more than just a runway fashion show.

James Van Praagh: Join renowned medium and spiritual teacher, James Van Praagh, for an unforgettable Evening of Spirit at the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater.

June 23rd

Single Vineyard Wine Dinner: Each year the winner of the local Aipono awards are showcased by hosting a wine dinner. This is a chance for guests to experience what the Mill House Restaurant has to offer. Courses are paired with wine that have been specially selected in collaboration between Chamber & Chambers wine merchants and the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director of the Mill House. $125 per person.

Kihei Fourth Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment at Kihei’s Azeka Shopping Center.

June 25th

26th Annual Kī Hō`alu Guitar Festival: Join us for one of Maui’s favorite family events! Some of Hawai‘i’s best slack key guitar players will perform a full afternoon of melodious Hawaiian music at the MACC’s A&B Amphitheater.

June 30th

Lanai Fifth Friday: Hop a ferry to the Pineapple Isle to enjoy live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment at Lanai’s Dole Park.

ArT=Mixx: GODDESS: Located at the MACC, ArT=Mixx is a fusion of music, performance, and visual art based on themes in the current Piero Resta exhibit. The event will feature DJ Boomshot, Fuzz Box Productions, and visuals by Douglas DeBoer.
