Aloha, Maui-goers! Now that the weather’s warming up and those April showers are out of here, we’re excited to give you some event suggestions to add to your travel itinerary. From the Maui Brew Fest to Memorial Day, Maui Chef’s Table events and Seabury Hall’s annual Craft Fair, there’s plenty to keep you entertained this lovely month of May.

Maui Events May 2017

Saturday Evenings (May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th):

Maui Chef’s Table – Come experience the Maui Chef’s Table culinary adventure on the grounds of Maui Tropical Plantation! Enjoy 7 courses of unique, farm-fresh cuisine and craft cocktails, all prepared in a gorgeous island setting. Please check their calendar for dates and tickets. $150 per person, including tax and gratuity.

May 2nd

Santana: For 40 years and as many albums later, Santana has sold more than 100 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. Watch this legendary musician perform at the MACC. Gates open at 4pm for food and beverage service; general admission at 5pm.

Hawaii Small Business Conference: Small business owners, start-ups, and entrepreneurs interested in taking their business to the next level are encouraged to attend the first-ever Hawai‘i Small Business Conference at the MACC’s Haynes and Alexa Higashi meeting rooms.

May 5th

Family Class at Island Art Party: From 2pm to 4:30pm, reserve a spot in Kihei’s family-friendly painting class. Painting ‘Red Jellyfish,’ this class is open for ages 8 and up.

Wailuku First Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family fun entertainment on Wailuku’s historic Market Street.

Maui Tastemakers Series: Located at Japengo in Lahaina, the Maui Tastemakers Series features a dining experience carefully crafted around and inspired by our local partners. Event lasts from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.

May 6th

38th Annual Na Holo Wahine 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk: An all women’s run/walk around Keopuolani Park. Proceeds of the race go to The Maui Farm, a community-based nonprofit organization providing farm-based, family-centered programs that teach essential life skills for self-sufficient living.

MAPA’s Spring Extravaganza: Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents four spectacular shows for the entire family. Head to the MACC to see the annual recital on Saturday or two performances of the romantic French ballet, ‘Giselle’, on Sunday.

Paddle Imua: This one-of-a-kind mission-based race embraces our connection to the ocean defining our sense of place, “Hawai’i nei.”  Proceeds from the race directly benefits Imua Family Services’ Camp Imua program.

Maui Matsuri Festival: The 17th Annual Maui Matsuri is a chance for the community to honor, celebrate, and perpetuate Japanese culture through festivities happening throughout the weekend. Day 2 of the festival occurs on May 6 at the University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC).

May 7th

MAPA’s Spring Extravaganza: Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents four spectacular shows for the entire family. Head to the MACC to see the annual recital on Saturday or two performances of the romantic French ballet, ‘Giselle’, on Sunday.

May 9th

Maui Waena Intermediate School Band: Performing at the MACC, guests are invited to attend a free performance for the annual School Band Concert Series, including the Maui Waena Intermediate School Band.

May 12th

Lahaina Second Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment on Lahaina’s famous Front Street.

May 13th

9th Annual Maui Brewers Festival: The MACC’s annual fundraising event is one of Maui’s top festivals! Every ticket includes two 4oz. beer tastings from local and national craft breweries, tasty food from local restaurants and caterers at no additional charge, door prizes, live music, and lots of fun.

Seabury Hall Craft Fair: Located in Upcountry Maui from 9am to 4pm, head to Seabury Hall for their annual Craft Fair, featuring 100 local artisans, live entertainment, great food, silent auction, activities for kids, rummage and plant sales and more.

May 14th

Michael Franti & Spearhead: Michael Franti is a musician, singer-songwriter, filmmaker, and humanitarian who is recognized as a pioneering force in the music industry. Go see his live performance at the MACC’s Events Lawn.

May 16th

Iao School Band: Performing at the MACC, guests are invited to attend a free performance for the annual School Band Concert Series, including the Iao School Band.

May 18th

Nick Swardson: An experienced comic, actor, writer and producer, Nick Swardson is known for his work on both the small and silver screen. Head to the MACC’s Castle Theater for a special comic performance.

May 19th

Makawao Third Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment on Makawao’s Baldwin Avenue.

Starry Night Cinema – Finding Dory: Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents another Starry Night Cinema event! Bring a low-back beach chair and/or a blanket and spread out on the lawn for a special screening. Gates open at 6pm, movie begins at 7:30pm – arrive early!

Maui Chamber Orchestra Presents West Side Story: The world’s greatest love story takes to the Iao Historic Theater in this landmark Maui presentation. From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time.

Sarah Cahill in Concert: Enjoy an evening of music and film featuring renowned pianist, Sarah Cahill, performing works by legendary composer, Lou Harrison. Sarah will also perform to Dr. Gary Greenberg’s time-lapsed micro-video.

May 21st

Tribal Seeds: From San Diego, California, award-winning reggae group Tribal Seeds return to Hawaii to share their spiritually driven, refreshing rock vibe infused with their Cali roots style of reggae music with special guest, Mike Love.

Maria Muldaur & Her Red Hot Bluesiana Band: Maria Muldaur is best known worldwide for her 1974 mega-hit, “Midnight at the Oasis,” which received several Grammy nominations and enshrined her forever in the hearts of Baby Boomers everywhere. Catch her live performance at the MACC.

Trevor Noah: Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s smash hit The Daily Show, is coming to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater for a very special one-night-only evening of comedy. Two shows at 8pm and 10pm.

May 26th

Kihei Fourth Friday: Live music, ono grinds, shopping and family-fun entertainment at Kihei’s Azeka Shopping Center.

East Meets West Festival of Music & Dance: Located at Iao Historic Theater, Jazz Maui presents the East Meet West Festival to encourage cross-cultural dance and musical collaborations. Explore a variety of styles and movements from east and west.

May 27th
